Football games

I will admit that I'm not really a football game watcher, but I am still a fan of the OSU Cowboys and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. I wish I had watched them in their bowl games this year. The Cowboys beat Alabama in the last few seconds! Go Pokes! Then the Red Raiders came from 31 points behind Minnesota to tie them at the last second and go into overtime. The Red Raiders won it in overtime! Go Red Raiders!

On the other game front -- my family played Monopoly last night. We played until the end with Kat having all the money! I went out first but continued to stay at the table because I was the banker.

Tonight we played Apples to Apples which we bought today to play tomorrow with more people on New Years Eve. It is definitely a fun game with our unique personalities showing forth!

I hate bad news.

We just learned that Kathryn's cat, BC, has cancer. He had surgery last week and it was suspected to be cancer but today we know for sure. Damn! I doubt that we will do chemotherapy due to the cost and BC sure still seems plenty feisty. I am sad, not because he may die, but because my daughter is hurting. Damn I hate bad news!

Too many things to do

It is my 25th anniversary of being married to Mark! I can still remember Dec 23, 1981 fairly clearly. My mother cooked quiche for lunch but forgot one of the main ingredients. We went to the church late in the afternoon. I wore my sisters wedding dress (her divorce was finalized a few days before but I loved the dress anyway). My sisters and I drank champagne in the bride's dressing room while the groom and groomsmen drank beer in the parking lot. We do have a champagne/beer marriage!

Now I am amazed that Mark has loved me and lived with me for 25 years. During that time we have had two amazing kids, a few dogs, a couple cats and very few fights. Our kids are simply amazing -- I hope they realize what a blessing they are to us!

Twenty five years is a long time and yet a short time for it sounds like a long time, but it doesn't seem like a long time! Time is a confusing thing. When you are waiting for medical test results, 2 days seems like forever but when you are just out and about time can really fly!

If you have kids, hug them -- regardless of their age!
